ROCK ’n rollers will have the chance to revisit their youth and dance the night away to the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s in Toowoomba next month.

Just Rock Toowoomba will hold its inaugural Rock-n-Roll Dance Spectacular at the Indoor Bowls Hall on Saturday, September 14.

So far rock ’n rollers from across South Queensland and as far north as Rockhampton have sought tickets to the event.

“It will be a big night and a lot of fun,” Just Rock member Denis Mitchell said.

“We have two bands – ‘On The Move’ and ‘Reminiscing’ – who will provide non-stop music from 7.30pm to midnight.

“We have contacted other clubs throughout Queensland and we’ve received a lot of interest so it will be a good night.”

Early bird tickets (before August 31) are just $20 or $25 after next Saturday and at the door.

The evening is a BYO alcohol event and a light supper will be provided. Dance shoes and rock-n-roll clothing will be on sale on the night.

Just Rock Toowoomba has been running for seven years and has more than 100 members.

“We dance each week at the Drayton Hall from 1pm to 4pm,” Mr Mitchell said.

“We teach beginners in rock-n-roll, partnered dancing and line dancing as well.”
