Panthers still on finals trail

-

THE Penrith Panthers are still on the prowl for the NRL semi-finals after tipping the Brisbane Broncos out of the 2013 premiership race in a 28-12 triumph at Centrebet Stadium last night.

Try-hungry Penrith rake James Segeyaro zipped through for a hat-trick to break a 12-all halftime deadlock after two first half tries by Broncos winger Corey Oates set up a good old fashioned arm wrestle.

The Panthers don’t pose the threat of a runaway locomotive but are gathering steam to remain in a six-way battle for the last two top-eight berths along with Newcastle, Gold Coast, Canberra, North Queensland and the Warriors.

Meanwhile, the South Sydney Rabbitohs flexed their premiership muscle by taming a resurgent Bulldogs 28-20 last night at ANZ Stadium.
