Club G takes confidence into semi

- TOUCH FOOTBALL

KNOCKING off the competition leaders last week will give Club G plenty of confidence heading into its Toowoomba Touch women’s A grade elimination semi-final today.

Club G takes on Fairholme in today’s minor semi-final at Kearneys Spring Sporting Complex. It will be a season-ender for the loser.

Fairholme is coming off a loss against Roosters, while Club G is on a high after scoring a win over top team Saints. The minor premiers will be out to bounce back in today’s major semi-final against Roosters, with both teams striving to be the first team through to the grand final.

Saints boast a team full of experienced players, while Roosters will field a line-up with many players entering their first top-grade finals series.

In men’s finals action, defending premiers Saints will be tough to beat, when they take on Lions in the major semi-final.

Saints have only lost one game all season, and on that occasion they were without several of their most experienced players. So they look capable of being the first team to progress to the grand final.

In the minor semi-final, Sharks will be looking to end the season of the Roosters and progress to next week’s preliminary final.

Roosters have been ravaged by injuries to key players and they will need to lift if they are to defeat a full-strength Sharks’ outfit.
