Dynamic ‘Duo’ takes on bakery business

-

IT takes a little more than tight undies and a flowing cape to make a true dynamic duo and the new owners of Duo Bakery and Cafe at Mary St Village have what it takes in spades. Alex Thompson and Mark Shultz have over 16 years bakery and cafe experience between them and have recently decided to take this experience to the next level by taking the helm of this well established East Toowoomba icon.

While retaining the name they intend to give it their own personal style with a focus on quality client service and food.

“We kept the name because frankly it fits our partnership and the name is well recognised in the area.” Mark said

“The first stage of the new business plan is a refurbish of the outdoor eating.

“We are also expanding the menu with a wider selection of sandwich bar options, quiches, salads, focaccias and cooked meals plus we will also be offering catering and speciality cakes; so all in all lots more of everything and it will all be good.”

LJH Commercial asset manager Nicole Mann added “Duo is now trading longer hours from 6.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and from 7am to 2pm Saturday and Sunday”.

“This along with the expanded product range will really establish Duo Bakery and Cafe and Mary St Village as the premier convenience centre on the east side.”
