New facility to bring services under one roof
BLUE Care Toowoomba’s new Ramsay St home is now open for business, with Blue Care executive director Robyn Batten confident the new facility will help the organisation service the community better than ever.
The centre will house the organisation’s community care, centre-based day respite and allied health services under one roof
Ms Batten praised the work of everyone involved in the development.
“For the first time our community care, respite care and allied health service will be working from the one building,” Ms Batten said.
“On-site amenities now include a gymnasium, treatment rooms, a client kitchen and spacious training rooms.
“Respite services make the most of natural light, with spacious areas for activities and dining.
“There is also a lovely outdoor area, while staff workspaces are fresh and modern.”
According to South West Cluster general manager Vicki Plummer, the not-for-profit organisation services 1300 people across the Darling Downs.
“We are really fortunate to have this wonderful, purpose-built facility to deliver services from,”

Ms Plummer said.
“We have more than 320 staff and volunteers who work hard to help our clients both here at the centre or in their homes.
“It will make a big difference having all aspects of what we do in one location.”
Integrated services manager Donna Hart said staff were excited to move into the new complex earlier this week.
“Everyone has been really impressed with our new Toowoomba facility,” Ms Hart said.
“Having everything we do under one roof will be one of the biggest benefits.
“A client can now come in for one of our allied health services and also be able to get a nurse to help change a dressing.”
Blue Care Toowoomba’s site also includes a 188-person aged care facility, as well as 22 independent living units for retirees.
