Pop the kettle on for cancer fundraiser

-

CANCER Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is fast approaching, with all Queenslanders invited to pop the kettle on this May 22 and tip the balance in the fight against cancer.

Cancer Council has marked the occasion by releasing an official 2014 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea mug and tea towel, now available for purchase.

Purchasing a limited edition 2014 mug or tea towel will make every dollar count, with all funds supporting Cancer Council Queensland’s vital work in cancer research, education and patient support.

This year a whole range of commemorative morning tea items are available for purchase to celebrate one of Cancer Council’s most popular and long-standing fundraising events, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The official date is Thursday, May 22 but events can be held anytime throughout May or June.

If Queenslanders can’t host an event, they can show their support through purchasing merchandise or by making a donation.

Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said there has never been a better excuse to pop the kettle on and take some time out to help in the fight against cancer.

“Together we can beat cancer – so switch that kettle on, grab your 2014 mug and enjoy a cuppa for a great cause!” Ms Clift said.

“You’ll bring an air of carnival to your kitchen by picking up our cute blue, DIY-themed merchandise – they will make a lovely addition to your kitchen, workplace, or could even be a nice gift.

“DIY crafts are a big hit at the moment so our chic, fun and colourful bunting-style pieces to commemorate the 21st year of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will be really popular.”
