Zooming up sales chart

-

THE new Mazda3 may have only been released last month, but it can already lay claim to being the Sunshine Coast’s best seller.

It currently holds the privilege of being Australia’s biggest selling car, as the appealing sedan and five-door hatchback Mazda3s have clearly struck a chord with the Coast’s buying public.

Sunshine Coast Mazda dealer principal Michael Harris said more than 100 Mazda3s had been sold in just the few weeks since arriving on the Coast.

“The 2014 Mazda3 boasts Skyactiv technology which achieves great fuel economy, i-Activsense optimises safety and the sports performance and new connectivity features are a bonus,” he said.

The title of the Sunshine Coast’s best-selling car has been held by the previous generation Mazda3 for the past three years, mirroring the appeal of the model nation-wide.

In 2013 Mazda3 had nearly 17% market share of the small cars under $40,000 segment, and achieved a thumping 42,082 sales.

This year looks to better even that, with more than 20% market share in its class last month, and nearly 22% in 2014 so far. There’s a 27% increase in sales over 2013 so far, highlighting the desirability of the new model.

The entry-level Mazda3 Neo model, in either sedan or hatchback body styles, are available from $23,689 drive away.

The Australian buying public are well informed these days, and know the new 3 is an exceptionally good all-rounder for the money.
