Chris loves daily learning curve

THE best part about Chris Hunter’s job is that she gets to learn something new every day.

The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service’s acting infection control clinical nurse said she loved working with other experienced health professionals at the Toowoomba Hospital’s Department of Public Health – Kobi House.

“The staff expose me to exciting challenges and opportunities,” Ms Hunter said. “It brings me job satisfaction to share new knowledge with my colleagues through education.”

Ms Hunter has worked in her current department for a year and at the hospital for five.

She said she loved the variety each day brought whether it be through immunising staff against the flu or participating in the team work of preventing harmful diseases such as measles from entering the facilities.

Ms Hunter also visits facilities at Oakey, Mt Lofty and Baillie Henderson Hospital, liaising with colleagues and providing support and education regarding current practice on the prevention of infections.

Family life brought Ms Hunter to Toowoomba 18 years ago. She has three sons. “Toowoomba has taught them well, preparing them for an exciting world out there and they have taught me well, teaching me to expect the unexpected and never be surprised.”

We live here ‘cos we love it!
