Team remembers RAMS Toowoomba principal

- Kate Dodd kate.dodd@thechronicle.com.au

WHEN the principals of RAMS Home Loans Toowoomba gathered to celebrate the formal launch of its Home Loan Centre recently, marketing manager Penelope McCowen said the team took the time to acknowledge and remember the achievements of Bunty-Ann Gebbett.

Ms Gebbett worked with Leon Owen and the principal of RAMS Home Loans Brisbane South West Grant Jacques to establish the brand in Toowoomba.

Eventually Ms Gebbett and Mr Owen became the principals of the Toowoomba business.

Ms McCowen said shortly after taking over the franchise, Ms Gebbett was diagnosed with a serious illness.

“Bunty was determined to build on what she started and so stayed in the business for another 15 months, during which time Charles McCowen had taken on a loan writing role at RAMS Home Loans Toowoomba,” she said.

“Earlier this year the RAMS team sadly lost Bunty after a long battle with cancer which resulted in Charles taking over the baton as co-principal with Leon.

“Bunty will be forever missed by all and always treasured by the RAMS team and the community of Toowoomba.”

Ms McCowen said a large number of guests and industry representatives took the time to join owners Leon Owen and Charles McCowen at the Hume St premises on May 22 to officially celebrate the opening of RAMS in Toowoomba.

She said much was said during the launch about the RAMS franchise network.
