Hawks share Premier Men’s points with Willowburn

- FOOTBALL — BEN DREWE

SOUTH Toowoomba Hawks became the second team in as many weeks to take a point off Football Toowoomba Premier Men’s leader Willowburn.

Hawks secured a 1-1 draw with the Magpies at Commonwealth Oval in a promising result for the club.

It came a week after Laidley also drew with high-flying Willowburn.

Laidley built on its good run of results with a 3-2 win over defending premiers USQ at the weekend.

Laidley slotted the first two goals of the game before USQ hit back just before half-time to make it 2-1 at half-time.

The Premier Grade fledglings restored their two-goal lead before USQ responded again with a second goal, but Laidley was able to hang on for the win.

West Wanderers posted a 1-0 win over Gatton in the other Premier Men’s game.

In Premier Women’s action, Rockville notched a 4-0 win over Highfields.
