Souths women reinforce flag credentials
SOUTH Toowoomba showed just why it is the team to beat in the AFL Darling Downs women’s competition with a thumping 25.20 (170) to 1.0 (6) victory over Goondiwindi at the weekend.
Caitlyn Costello bagged five majors in just her second game, with eight players kicking two or more goals for the Bombers.
It was by far the biggest victory of the season for the defending premiers who remain unbeaten after seven rounds.
However, Coolaroo still leads the competition after claiming a 9.19 (73) to 3.5 (23) victory over Warwick at the weekend.
Rep star and the league’s top goal-kicker Jade Hose booted another three majors as Coolaroo dominated the contest.
The Roos are enjoying a fantastic rookie season with their only loss coming against Souths in their first game.
