See the future on the horizon

-

THE University of Southern Queensland recently welcomed back former graduates with a USQ Corporate Club event hosted by the Horizon Accounting Group.

Corporate Club members were able to hear about the range of services offered by the Horizon branch here in Toowoomba and how important the university has proven to be in the growth and development of the business.

Horizon director, Tim Davis, said the value of having such a high quality educational facility in Toowoomba can not be overstated.

“Nowhere is this more apparent than at the Horizon Accounting Group office,” Mr Davis said.

“Every one of our directors, and many more of our team members, are graduates of the university or its predecessors.

“Where staff are looking to further their education and skills, we always look for opportunities provided by the university.”

Fellow Horizon director, Matt Cherry, said as a business whose job it is to advise other local businesses, Horizon feels a very strong connection to the local community.

“This is reflected in our involvement with sports groups, community groups and business organisations like the Corporate Club and the Chamber of Commerce,” Mr Cherry said.

“But if you want real proof of our local credentials, you don’t need to look any further than our five directors.

“Each one of them holds either a Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce from USQ or its predecessors, and there are another five USQ graduates among the rest of the team.

“We currently also have two trainee accountants, Kylie Otto and Bridget Ryan, both enrolled at USQ.”
