Queenslanders enjoy a cuppa
THIS May, thousands of Queenslanders raised their cups for the 21st Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – fighting back against a disease that takes too much.
On behalf of Cancer Council Queensland I would like to thank the countless Toowoomba and south-west Queensland residents, community groups, workplaces and media outlets that made every cup count – not just by simply hosting an event, making a donation or buying merchandise – but for truly giving hope to Queenslanders diagnosed with cancer.
The cause has never been more important. One in two Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime – around 24,000 people this year alone. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer-free future, and we are well on our way to achieving our Queensland target of $2.5 million, but we couldn’t do it without such amazing community support.
Thanks also go to the many journalists and editors across Toowoomba and south-west Queensland for their standout coverage of morning tea activities through countless newspaper articles and radio and television stories.
This promotion is intrinsic for the success of our campaign and I thank you for your incredible support.
All funds raised from Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea support vital work in cancer research, education programs and patient support services across Queensland.
Thank you once again, for raising your cups and helping us create hope for a cancer-free future!
