Its latest technology
FORD’S ongoing commitment to intelligent cars and the future of mobility will be on full display at Computex, with the announcement today that it will demonstrate its experimental vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology for the first time in Asia Pacific.
Two specially-equipped Ford Kugas will showcase the V2V technology in a number of scenarios in which vehicle-to-vehicle communication could help prevent accidents.
“The V2V technology we will be showing at Computex is just one of the many ways Ford is leading high-tech automotive research and development,” said Trevor Worthington, vice president, Product Development, Ford Asia Pacific. “At Computex, we are pleased to be showcasing technologies which are available today, as well as our innovative, forward-thinking technologies still in the development phase.”
In addition to the live V2V demonstration, Ford will also unveil the all-new Mustang for the first time in Taiwan, along with its line-up of cutting-edge technologies, including demo stations for its SYNC and Ford AppLink in-car connectivity systems. Featuring a sleek new design, the new Mustang will be the smartest ever, coming fully equipped with a range of Ford’s smart technologies, including SYNC, MyKey and Intelligent Access.
“No other car has inspired drivers like the Ford Mustang has over the last 50 years. The new generation is a modern take on a classic vehicle, and it’s packed with all of the great tech features that are driving Ford’s technology leadership,” said Worthington. “We’re thrilled that consumers in Taiwan will have a chance to get up close and personal with the new Mustang and the rest of our technology at Computex.” Ford innovations Ford already is a leading auto innovator with vehicles such as the Ford Kuga that features advanced, radar-based driver-assist features^ such as Active City Stop to help drivers avoid potential accidents at low speeds# and Active Park Assist designed to help make parallel parking simple. Ford SYNC connectivity system uses Bluetooth®* and voice recognition technology to give drivers enhanced control over key connectivity features including music and hands free calling. Ford’s presence at Computex Ford’s booth at Computex will show visitors how Ford’s technologies make connected driving easier and more intuitive. Consumers will be able to test Ford’s SYNC connectivity system, which allows drivers to control navigation systems, make phone calls, and operate the radio and more features through voice controls. Visitors will also be able to experience Ford AppLink, a seamless solution for in-car connectivity that allows users to operate their favourite mobile apps through the SYNC voice control interface. In addition, the booth will include an interactive green screen for visitors to snap photos in front of and share on social media or keep as souvenirs, and a DJ booth hosted by the popular local radio station ICRT.
