Top week to remember for city pub boss
SPOTTED Cow manager Phil Coorey is ready to declare last week as the best of his life.
It started with the South Sydney Rabbitohs taking the NRL premiership and finished with Oktoberfest celebrations.
Even spending 16 straight hours on his feet pouring steins of Germany’s finest brews couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.
After a bit of a slow start to the day, people began pouring through the doors late Saturday afternoon, many wearing lederhosen and dirndls, set for an evening of German-inspired frivolity.
Mr Coorey said getting hold of the official Oktoberfest beers direct from Munich really topped off a perfect day.
“It was a great day and everyone really got into the spirit of things,” he said.
Phil Coorey: I’m really happy with how it went. This has been the best week of my life with the Souths winning and Oktoberfest.
“It got really busy and everyone worked their way through their beer passports.
“It was great having the official Oktoberfest beers from Munich, which are brewed every year and are slightly stronger; we had four brewers showcasing their beers and they were so tasty.
“Everyone enjoyed them and even plenty of the ladies were trying them out.
“I’m really happy with how it went. This has been the best week of my life with the Souths winning and Oktoberfest.”
