Park upgrade

WILSONTON residents will soon enjoy new parkland facilities and state-of-the-art play and exercise equipment.

Exercise “nodes”, a bush food area, public artwork, totems, fenced playground and native grassland will feature in the major upgrade planned for Wilsonton Heights Park, which is bound by Tor St, Wine Dr, Port St and High Court Dr.

The $1 million-plus project is being jointly funded by Toowoomba Regional Council (60%) and the Queensland Government’s Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program (40%).

The tender process is currently under way and will be completed later this month.

It is anticipated construction will begin before the end of the year.
