Joan is our lady of letters

-

I ENJOYED reading the article about our very own Joan Dunlop (TC, 4/10).

I liken her to a modern-day sage with her profound wisdom and ideas. She does quite literally think “outside the square” like myself and importantly is not afraid to air her views.

I would however correct her on the statement, “these days anyone can say (stuff) online anonymously”, this is not quite true.

To post comments online, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or as I do on various international news sites such as The Guardian, France 24, Reuters, Indy Star etc., one must have a profile to identify yourself, like the old “nom de plume” which many an author has adopted over the years. Anyone reading your comment can then check your profile. Yours truly in writing Joan!
