Marquez takes title

MOTORSPORT: Spain’s Marc Marquez has claimed his second MotoGP title after finishing runner-up to countryman Jorge Lorenzo at Motegi in Japan. It was the second victory of the season for Lorenzo, who beat Marquez home by 1.638 secs, with Italy’s Valentino Rossi back in third place. After breaking his leg in a dirt bike accident prior to the season, Marquez won the opening 10 races to set up an unassailable lead. If he can win one more race this season he will match Mick Doohan’s all-time record of 12 in one year.
