Police raids net $50,000 in drugs
POLICE raids on the Southern Downs netted a drug haul worth more than $50,000.
A large quantity of marijuana and amphetamines was seized.
Fourteen officers from Inglewood, Texas and Millmerran joined members from the Goondiwindi and Stanthorpe Criminal Investigation branches to simultaneously raid properties in Inglewood, Millmerran and Texas.
Officer in charge of Inglewood Police Station Sergeant Tim Hoffman said 1.5kg of marijuana and 30g of amphetamine was seized.
He said 10 people were arrested on about 40 charges relating to the supply of dangerous drugs, production of dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs
“Drugs are a scourge on our society and it takes a real toll in small communities such as these,” he said.
“We’re certainly happy with the outcomes.
