Mental health left to regions
LATE last year, the Coalition Government announced a mental health reform with several elements, including a plan where local Primary Health Networks (PHNs) would decide on what mental health services would best suit their community’s needs.
Health Minister Sussan Ley said this reform was a "regionalised approach" to service planning, integration and delivery. She also said they would establish a digital mental health system where patients could connect via phone or website.
