Right-wing rise

-

WHAT is it with right-wing politicians that they let their ideology blind them to what is going on in the world around them?

The more right wing they are like Cory Bernardi, the more they refuse to accept the obvious.

With the rise of the right-wing political parties like the American Republicans under Donald Trump, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation and the present Liberal Party government I believe that we are entering a new dark age. I fear for the future.

If ever a party was misnamed, it is the Liberal Party. They, like the others, are all right-wing conservatives.

The ABC continues to lose programs such as Catalyst and that is not the only one.

I believe the Federal Government is just being vindictive. The CSIRO has lost personnel in the past especially in the field of climate science.

If things go on as they are, we will soon only have sports programs and mind numbing programs on television.

There are a multitude of them. They may be entertaining but do nothing to enhance people’s knowledge.

It was ever thus. The ancient Romans used to provide entertainment for their people in the Colosseum to distract them from worrying about the shortcomings of their leaders.

I believe, like in that city, all who have the electoral power are almost totally divorced from the natural world.

Climate change deniers like those above are not likely to put money into alternative energy because they think that there is nothing to worry about.
