DONUT King has launched a new concept at Toowoomba’s busiest shopping centre, and it’s totally sweet.

A new-style kiosk branded as “Warm to Go” has been opened, and it’s all about their signature hot doughnuts.

The new kiosk is on level two of the retail galleria, outside H&M, at Grand Central Shopping Centre. It’s the first one to be launched in Australia.

There are five flavoured sugars to choose from; their original cinnamon, banana, salted caramel, tropical, chocolate and wild berry.

Owner Nathan Dwight ran the Donut King at Grand Central for the past nine years with his wife Pauline.

He said the trial store would be open along with the original store.

“We’re here until at least March, for about 12 weeks.

“We’ll see what happens then and if everything goes well we may look at extending that.

He said Donut King would closely watch the trial, with the concept to be rolled out across Australia.

Has it been a success? Mr Dwight said people had been going for the tried-and-true favourite of hot cinnamon doughnuts.

“We have had some adventurous people trying the new flavours, which is good.”

Staff will be swapped between the two stores which means more shifts are available.

Mr Dwight said he was hiring and applicants could bring their resumes into the store.
