RACING: Toowoomba four-year-old Temujin’s Rule can hand his patient connections an early Christmas gift tomorrow when he chases an overdue win at Clifford Park.

Temujin’s Rule — a four-time placegetter from six race starts — is searching for his breakthrough victory in the Key Sun Zinke Maiden Plate (1200m) where he’ll be partnered by premier jockey Skye Bogenhuber.

The Tycoon Ruler gelding has been a beaten favourite at his two latest outings, including a last-start third at Bunya Park.

Trainer Michael Frappell could find no excuses for Temujin’s Rule’s latest defeat and is banking on his consistency finally being rewarded

“To be honest, I thought he might have broken through by now,” he said.

“But you’ve got to respect the opposition you can strike and up until now he’s just found a few a bit better than him.

“He had every chance last start at Dalby.

“Skye rode him beautifully but he wasn’t quite good enough on the day.

“He’s a big, rangy horse — a beautiful type actually — and he still mightn’t be quite there just yet.

“But I think he can win on Saturday and hopefully he can have those little things go his way that you need.”

Frappell also saddles A Tisket A Tasket tomorrow when she resumes in the UBET QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1050m).

“She’s jumped out really well going into this race,” Frappell said.

“She’s got a nice 3kg claim on Saturday and I think she might be on the improve this time in.”

TOMORROW’S first race jumps at 1.07pm.
