Girls enjoy life at school

-

Lilly Marsden

I AM in Year 9. I have been at Fairholme since the start of Year 6 but I also came here for kindy. I live in Toowoomba.

What I love about Fairholme is there are day girls and boarders and everyone has different home lives, so it is interesting to find out about them.

I do home economics, Japanese and dance as my extra curriculars.

Japanese I am really interested in because I think Japan is such a big country in the world and is important.

I would like to go at the end of Year 12. Hopefully I can be a bit more fluent in Japanese by then.

When I leave school I would like to be a sports commentator.

I also play a lot of netball. I play for the Fairholme club and outside of school as well. I also do a lot of singing. I am in some choirs and do performances outside of school with friends.

Laura Craft

I AM in Year 9. I have been at Fairholme for 12 years and have always lived in Toowoomba.

I do French, German and art as well as the core subjects.

When I am not at school I enjoy mountain biking. I have been doing that for about two-and-a-half years. I got into it because of my dad.

Everyone else in my family mountain bikes as well, so my dad, my sister and my mum.

I do it pretty much every weekend. I go to Jubilee Park in Toowoomba and we usually go to Brisbane because that is where most of the competitions are.

I don’t really know what I want to do after school, but maybe some sort of doctor.

I AM in Year 12 and have been at Fairholme since Year 6.

My parents used to live here when they were younger and and had my older brother here. So we have always had relatives in Toowoomba, but now we live in Hong Kong.

I just spend the school term here. We have always had permanent residency in Hong Kong but have lived there full on now since 2007. Dad is a pilot.

I love going home. We used to live in the city but now we live out near the airport on the beach.

I have two younger sisters who are at Fairholme and an older brother who finished at Grammar two years ago. He went back to Hong Kong and he’s now playing rugby and studying law externally though USQ.

I like the diversity at Fairholme. It’s very inclusive, even though I come from overseas I never feel like an outsider.

The best thing about Hong Kong is the new people you meet every day and the different cultures, it is never the same routine.

After school I would like to do international relations and law, a dual degree. The goal is to go to Bond and work in Hong Kong after.

I have also just won the district Lions Youth of the Year and this weekend I go on to the regional competition.

Maggie Lattimore

I AM in Year 6. I am from Chinchilla and have been at school here since Year 1.

Everyone is really nice, you don’t get left out and no one is mean. We all get along. I enjoy doing art, drama and sport.

After school I want to be a prep teacher. Mostly because my mum is a teacher and on the holidays she works at a different school and I get to help her.

I am also a prep leader here this year and get to help the preps.

I also enjoy doing gymnastics.
