RACING: Supporters will be hoping history can repeat itself when lightly raced Toowoomba four-year-old Teeroys Tribute returns to racing at Clifford Park tomorrow.

Teeroys Tribute resumes racing for trainer Eric Ropiha following a two-month break in the SWM Hire Class 2 Handicap (1050m) where he’ll be ridden by Kenji Yoshida.

Teeroys Tribute hasn’t raced since being freshened for a flashing-finish win in Clifford Park Class 1 Handicap (1050m) on January 21.

The Sequalo gelding broke through for an overdue maiden win at Clifford Park on New Year’s Eve.

That win came at his first start for four months and punters will be looking for him to produce a similar first-up effort on the comeback tomorrow.

Leading jockey Nozi Tomizawa will sit on an 11-day suspension after completing his six early rides on tomorrow night’s seven-race card.

Tomizawa was outed for

careless riding aboard Boltin’ Desire in the Two-Year-Old Handicap at Doomben on Wednesday and will return to riding on April 6.

“It means I will miss one weekend of riding and I’m not appealing,” Tomizawa said yesterday.

“I will be back to ride at Gatton on April 6 and luckily I won’t miss the Weetwood meeting.

“I think I have three early rides on Weetwood day and

I’m waiting to see for now if I will pick up a Weetwood ride.”

Apprentice Baylee Nothdurft will be looking to build on his impressive March winning strike rate when he partners several strong early fancies at tomorrow’s meeting.

The 3kg claimer currently sits fifth on the national jockey’s strike-rate list with 10 wins from 34 rides during the past 21 days at a strike rate of 29.4%.

THE Wandoan Cup highlights racing when Wandoan Diggers’ Race Club hosts a capacity five-event card tomorrow.

THE 2017 March Magic Millions Yearling Sale returned almost identical figures to last year when 298 lots went through the Gold Coast ring this week.

The average price of $28,815 compared with last year’s figure of $28,420 while the clearance rate of 81% was the same as 2016.
