THE odds are surely in his favour.

As Laidley musician Judah Kelly blitzes through each round of reality singing contest The Voice, the bets are only getting shorter.

Online bookmaker Sportsbet puts the 20-year-old at odds of $2.10 to win the show.

Mr Kelly earned a standing ovation on Sunday night with his rendition of Purple Rain by Prince.

The 20-year-old was a television favourite from the beginning after all four judges turned their chairs during his blind audition when he sung Tennessee Whiskey.

After each superstar judge pitched hard to be his mentor, he eventually chose Team Delta.

His coach Delta Goodrem couldn’t be more proud of his performance on Sunday night.

“I’m so proud of you and I’m going to keep hugging you and keep telling you how much I love you,” she said. “You are a beautiful singer and a beautiful heart and I love you more and more each day.” Mr Kelly got emotional. “It’s always been a thing that I’m really judgemental about myself,” he said.

“You’ve heard it all the time that people have learnt to love themselves. I don’t really understand what they mean by learning to love themselves.”

Mr Kelly’s rendition of Purple Rain is now sitting in the Australian iTunes Charts.

“Remember every purchase and every time you stream, it is a vote for next week’s result,” he wrote on his Facebook fan page.
