THERE is nothing quite as beautiful as getting lost within the pages of a good book. For children, reading is not only vital for their development and for learning basic communication skills, but it can be an enjoyable hobby that stretches the span of their life. That’s why we’re asking you, parents, to plant the seed and help them read, with our latest Great Australian Storybook Collection which kicks off this weekend. We believe every bookshelf should be stocked with the best Australian stories, so we’re making that as easy as possible. We’re giving away 15 of the classics for just $2.30 with the paper every day for the next two weeks. It kicks off in The Sunday Mail this Sunday with a FREE copy of Possum Magic and a collector’s case. From next week, grab The Chronicle every day and The Sunday Mail on Sundays.

HERE ARE THE 15 BOOKS TO COLLECT:

• Sunday 23 July – Possum Magic + Collector’s Case (The Sunday Mail) • Monday 24 July – The Wonky Donkey (The Chronicle) • Tuesday 25 July – Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas (The Chronicle) • Wednesday 26 July – Time for Bed (The Chronicle) • Thursday 27 July – I Went Walking (The Chronicle) • Friday 28 July – Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge (The Chronicle) • Saturday 29 July – Pig the Pug (The Chronicle) • Sunday 30 July – The Very Cranky Bear (The Sunday Mail) • Monday 31 July – There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Mozzie (The Chronicle) • Tuesday 1 August – This & That (The Chronicle) • Wednesday 2 August – Tales from the Gum Tree (The Chronicle) • Thursday 3 August – The Magic Hat (The Chronicle) • Friday 4 August – Pig the Fibber (The Chronicle) • Saturday 5 August – Waltzing Matilda (The Chronicle) • Sunday 6 August – Wombat Stew (The Sunday Mail)
