Brother’s ag-recruitment business wins Qld award
BROTHERS Casey and Luke Brown have the global agricultural market firmly in their sights, with the duo planning to take their business Agri Labour Australia worldwide.
Their recruiting business, which has been named a Queensland winner in this year’s Telstra Business Awards, employs 36 full-time staff, with growth tracking at an average of 46% year on year since founding in 2010.
Casey said last year they had placed more than 7000 staff across the country.
“We might have an agriculture business contacting us and wanting 100 staff for a project, or someone might want two people,” he said.
He said the company had previously won a national contract with GrainCorp to find close to 700 grain handlers across Queensland and Victoria.
The brothers were born in Goondiwindi, and after heading to boarding school as well as working on the land, they both attended university in Brisbane.
“We both got involved in the HR game, and got a bit of taste for that,” Casey said.
“We saw an opportunity to use the skills we had developed in the agriculture sector.
“We were constantly hearing from family about the difficulty in finding good people, and given both our HR experience and extensive agricultural experience we saw an opportunity to fill a gap.”
The company has grand plans for expansion, with Casey saying the company had recently implemented its strategic five-year plan.
“We want to be the global leaders in delivering HR solutions in the agricultural industry,” he said.
