Company pays tribute to employee

BILL Brennan never expected that he would one day be celebrating 30 years at Sedl Contractors.

The Clifton-born employee walked through the door on his first day in 1987 with humble ambitions - to provide for his family.

Mr Brennan has held a number of jobs at the company, wearing numerous hats over the years to prove himself more than useful.

“A lot of hats but master of none,” he quipped.

In a day and age where everyone is looking for their next big move, Mr Brennan is a rarity of sorts.

When asked why he has stuck around for so long, Mr Brennan is quick to explain why.

“They treat you like family here,” he said

“They keep an eye on me because they reckon I cause too much chaos.”

Mr Brennan has held a total of five jobs in his life and credits his upbringing for shaping him as the man he is today.

His hard-working nature is something that was forged way before his time at Sedl.

“Where I grew up on the land I always started before dark and always went home after dark,” he said.

“It’s just the way I was

brought up by my parents.”

Sedl Contractors managing director Michael Sedl paid tribute to the man he has known for going on 40 years now, and said Mr Brennan had not changed in that time.

“We get a bit slower as we get older but he has been a very faithful employee,” Mr Sedl said.

“He’s got a good work ethic and he gets along really well with the blokes here.”

They treat you like family here.
