Country music star to headline group’s concert

FOLLOWING on from the success of the last event in July, country music star Tony Wagner, who is a frequent visitor to Toowoomba, will be the special guest artist at the Garden City Country Music Associatio­n’s concert this month.

Mr Wagner has performed at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Gympie Music Muster, the Munna Creek and Nanango Country Music Festivals along with the Texas Country Round-up and the Widgee Country Music Festival.

He has also worked with some of the best people in the business, including Brian Letton, Lindsay Butler, Shaza Leigh, Rege Poole, the late Evelyn Bury and the late Shorty Ranger, as well as Anne Kirkpatric­k and John McSweeny.

“Whenever Tony performs he draws a large crowd and has them asking for more,” Garden City Country Music Associatio­n’s president and

publicity officer Bluey Shelton said.

“As a seasoned performer Tony is only too happy to help charities and organisati­ons such as the Garden City Country Music Associatio­n, as well as assisting performers in live shows and recording sessions.”

Fans of country music are invited to the concert on Sunday, August 13, at the Trinity Lutheran Church Hall in Toowoomba from noon.

Entry is $8, with afternoon tea and raffles provided on the day.
