CAMILLA Champion de Crespigny, operations assistant, and Bee Nguyen, customer service assistant, at House of Home. What do you do?

Champion de Crespigny: A typical day usually starts with me checking all of the on-site advertisin­g we have running, and any other operations tasks. Then the rest of the day is devoted to search engine optimisati­on. This will involve using Tableau dashboards to explore how our customers research and purchase products and what keywords they use. Data is extremely important in my role as it tells us where we are performing well, where we’re not performing perhaps as well as we could, and opportunit­ies we are missing.

Nguyen: I provide customers with support on the phone, via email or through our chat help desk. My customers are either the retailers who are advertisin­g with House of Home, or buyers who are interested in the products that we have on our website. It is all about having the most relevant data work on easier. hand to make my What qualificat­ions?are your Champion de Crespigny: Currently studying a Bachelor of Business, majoring in informatio­n systems and computer science. Nguyen: Bachelor of Management, majoring in human resource management and business security. How do you see data being used in the coming years? Champion de Crespigny: In the future, more in-depth data will become available in all industries, which will help us in creating even more effective SEO strategies. As more nuanced data becomes available we will be able to create a more targeted experience for consumers.

Nguyen: As our data processing gets better, what is really going to be exciting in the future is our ability to provide a personalis­ed shopper experience. This will be based on all the accumulate­d data we’re receiving and implemente­d progressiv­ely. It’s really exciting!
