You can order floral ice cream
A BURGER bar has unveiled a floral ice cream in celebration of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
Betty’s Burgers is offering a special lavender and blackberry waffle concrete, a dessert made available during September.
The floral-inspired concrete features frozen house-made vanilla custard ice cream as the base and is topped with waffle flakes, blackberries, lavender cream and lavender sprigs.
Toowoomba general manager Erin Braithwaite said Betty’s Burgers specifically created this fresh flavour to match the blossoms and bouquets that took over Toowoomba in spring.
“We’re really keen to get involved with the local community and we know the Carnival of Flowers is a major event that we can’t miss,” she said.
“Our custom concrete flavour pairs the creamy consistency of vanilla custard with the delicate flavours of lavender and blueberry.”
The fate of the flower concrete was placed in the hands of the Betty’s Burgers Toowoomba staff.
Given the choice between two options, the orange blossom delight or lavender and blackberry waffle, the staff voted to decide the winner.
The store’s house-made frozen custard ice cream is made from pantry staples: milk, sugar, cream and eggs and is churned in a custom-made machine.
The custard is beaten at a slow pace so to not allow air in, which creates a dense, creamy consistency, enabling the mix to hold added ingredients.
The lavender and blackberry waffle concrete is available at Betty’s Burgers at Grand Central Shopping Centre throughout September for $8.
