See Wendy’s infectious energy for yourself

This talented musician will return to Toowoomba for USQ’s Little Village Sessions

-

WENDY Matthews has an expressive voice that never fails to move those who hear it.

Her music is an unhurried journey of clean melodies, infectious energy and simple grace.

In an age where uber-production techniques are thought to be hip and cynicism an attribute, Wendy has proven that commitment to beauty is still not only valid, but applauded by the public ear.

There are very few artists in Australia who come close to Matthews and her stunning credentials: seven Arias, a massive 19 hit singles, and seven gold or multi-platinum selling albums.

Wendy will perform in Toowoomba for the University of Southern Queensland’s Artsworx concert series Little Village Sessions on Wednesday September 27 at 7.30pm.

The Little Village Sessions is a concert series produced by USQ Music lecturers Bruce Woodward and Mark Sholtez that pairs high-profile musicians with the lecturers and students of USQ’s Music program in a one-off concert.

This program will showcase Matthews’s remarkable voice in an intimate musical setting, featuring contributions from some of Australia’s leading musicians: including songwriter and recording artist Mark Sholtez, and jazz guitarist and arranger Bruce Woodward.

This unique concert presentation – exclusive to Artsworx – is not to be missed and tickets will sell quickly.

Scholtez said Matthews was part of the very first event in 2015.

“The show was truly something special for both the audience and the band – especially those USQ music students that performed,” he said.

“In fact, for the students, Little Village has become an important part of their transition into the professional world.

“We are looking forward to continuing our collaborative relationship with Wendy when she joins us this year, where again we will be exploring her amazing catalogue of music, along with a few surprises.”
