4 Brothers Brewing to turn into speed dating venue for a night

- Meghan Harris meghan.harris@thechronicle.com.au

IN THE age of Tinder it’s rare to meet someone face-to-face before firstly sussing each other out online.

But 4 Brothers Brewing is bringing back the “old school” way of meeting people, introducing people face-to-face at a speed dating event.

But Tinder hasn’t completely been forgotten, with the owner of the brewery Adrian Cubit acting like the match-making service.

Each attendee will be handed a card to write down whether or not they would like to meet up with anyone again.

It will then be handed to Mr Cubit.

He will go through all the cards the following morning and if there is a mutual attraction, each person will receive a notification.

Mr Cubit said it was a bit of fun playing cupid.

“We have long communal tables at the brewery and the idea was everyone could interact, so we thought we could take it a step further and host speed dating events,” he said.

“I’m sure it will be a bit nerve-wracking for some, so we may need to give them a bit of liquid courage.

“If you aren’t the sort of person who always goes out, it may be hard to meet people and speed dating is a bit of fun.”

The brewery is after 15 females and 15 males to take part in the event from 5pm Thursday, September 28.

Tickets are $30 and includes a free drink upon arrival.
