Next steps to global success

Arcadian set to continue its brand expansion

-

TOOWOOMBA-based Arcadian Organic and Natural Meat Co has announced its latest steps to continue the global expansion of its brands.

The company is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of organic and natural meat.

In order to focus on downstream initiatives, including product development and entering new markets, Arcadian sold its two rural properties to Australian family-controlled business Hewitt Cattle Australia who will take a minority stake in Arcadian as part of the broader deal.

Arcadian will leverage its core competencies to further consolidate its position as a leader in the global organic and natural meat industry, which in turn will provide greater support to the company’s existing and future producer partners.

Arcadian already enjoys support from more than 120 organically certified suppliers, who will continue to be an integral part of the company’s growth.

Arcadian’s key domestic retail product, Cleaver’s Organic Meat, has been a favourite of Australian customers for more than 15 years.

This product line is available through Coles and Woolworths stores as well as leading independent retailers. Arcadian will continue to use Cleaver’s to drive domestic growth and lead the brand development charge into global markets.

“We take a long-term view and have great confidence in the organic industry” said Arcadian founder and CEO Alister Ferguson.

“We strongly believe that rapid growth in the organic segment will continue, and see evidence of this in a number of ways including the ongoing strength of the Cleaver’s brand.”

Arcadian is one of Australia’s great export success stories, with about 75 per cent of sales attributable to offshore markets.

In the US, its largest export market, Arcadian built partnerships with several major retailers, and the company is also continuing its expansion into high growth Asian markets.

CEO of Hewitt Cattle Australia Mick Hewitt believed the transaction would greatly benefit and advance the organic industry.

“This is a testament to the long-term viability of the organic grass-fed industry. We have partnered with Arcadian because we share a commitment to this industry and are prepared to invest in it.”
