Weekend onsite auctions bring ‘spirited’ bidding

-

TWO eastside homes sold ‘under the hammer’ last weekend showing continuing confidence in the Toowoomba Real Estate market.

A post-war three-bedroom timber home set on 812sq ms was marketed over a three-week period and created good buyer interest through a series of open houses and individual inspections.

The Mt. Lofty home in Wooldridge Street was less than 1 kilometre from Mater Dei and Fairholme College and in a quiet location. The onsite auction drew a crowd of 30 people and sold for $430,000.

A distinctive 'Georgian Style' two-storey brick home in East Toowoomba sold at an onsite auction for $745,000. There were six registered bidders and a group of 60 people witnessed a spirited battle to acquire one of this area’s prettiest homes. The new buyers of 57 Wirra Wirra Street intend to completely renovate the property.

Auctioneer and marketing agent David Snow said he was very pleased with the final results and hoped that the renewed buyer interest, especially in character properties, continued in to the first quarter of 2018 and beyond.

He said recent sales activity in the $1-$2 million dollar price range was particularly exciting for market trends and was a result of a build-up of active buyer demand and a limited choice of select properties currently available.
