THE GLENNIE SCHOOL AND CHRISTIAN OUTREACH COLLEGE FORMALS
THE Glennie School hosted its largest formal this year, with 114 Year 12 students and 371 guests.
Held at the Picnic Point function centre on Friday, Year 12s and their partners were welcomed onto the red carpet by family, friends and loved ones.
Pre-dinner drinks and entertainment by the Glennie Woodwind and String Quartet on the picturesque terrace set the tone for a special evening.
Glennie seniors Grace Dunstan and Natasha Adams officially welcomed guests before Louise Petersen and Courtney Markey gave a vocal performance of Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift.
Guest speaker Reverend Kate Powell toasted the Year 12s and formal coordinators Leigh Duffin and Susan Rollason acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the formal committee.
“In 2017, there have been times of remarkable achievement and periods of significant challenges. This evening recognises that the opportunities and experiences Year 12s have had at Glennie are only the foundations upon which they must now build,” Mrs Rollason said.
Ellie de Jong ended her official duties as school captain and toasted the school before the formal committee members cut the cake.
“We wish the girls all the best with their future endeavours, they will be missed,” Mr Duffin said.
