David Janetzki (LNP) What are the key issues of this election?
Cost of living pressures, including power prices and car registration. There is also the need to implement further initiatives to address the scourge of ice, the increase in domestic violence and safeguard community safety..
What would you be advocating for in parliament for this community, if elected?
Labor is a Brisbane centric government and more needs to be done to support Toowoomba's infrastructure needs. In Toowoomba South, investments need to be made to address school safety concerns at Glenvale State School and around Harristown.
What is your best attribute?
I will always fight to ensure Toowoomba South gets its fair share.
Susan Krause (ALP) What are the key issues of this election?
For me the key issues of the election has always been jobs, education and health. They are the pillars on which everything else is built.
What would you be advocating for in parliament for this community, if elected?
I think in Toowoomba South we lack community spaces, particularly those which are low cost or free to members of the community and I would also be advocating for real and ongoing jobs and training to be based in the community.
I think Labor’s policies around this have already set up a good basis to build on.
What is your best attribute?
My determination. When I set my mind to something I don’t tend to stop until I get results.
Rob Berry (Ind) What are the key issues of this election?
We need more nurses and equipment for aged care, protection for senior citizens funds and property, and to promote jobs locally.
We need protection for women and children in domestic violence situations and funding for police and fire services.
What would you be advocating for in parliament for this community, if elected?
I will commit to reduce electricity charges by 25 per cent for all residents and businesses, and automatic pension rises for pensioners at the same rate and time politicians get their income increases.
What is your best attribute?
I’m an experienced negotiator, effective communicator, and straight talker who will stand up for you, the battler.
