Changes to CBD parking

- steve.etwell@thechronicle.com.au

NOBODY really wants to pay for parking.

But it is a fact of life in the 21st century.

Council yesterday changed some CBD parking spots in Margaret Street from two hours to one hour.

That is sure to spark plenty of comments from shoppers.

The days when people could drive to the front of the shop where they wished to shop are long gone.

Paid parking in Toowoomba is pretty reasonable.

More and more, free parking will move out of the CBD.

The trial in the CBD is designed to stop traders taking up parking spots and to make more spaces available to shoppers.

The Christmas period will be especially busy in the city so it will be interesting to see how the changed hours in Margaret Street affect shoppers and trading.

Parking has been a huge issue in the city during the redevelopment of Grand Central.

Hopefully this parking change will assist traders.

BIBLE THOUGHT

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24 AKJV)

You can’t be half-hearted. Either you are going for God or you are not. Which is it?
