Council reinforces 3P parking
TOOWOOMBA Regional Council has reinforced its designated parking area in the CBD.
Notes explaining the perimeter were placed on cars in the three-hour parking zone this week coinciding with a one-hour parking trial on Margaret St, between Ruthven and Neil Sts.
Toowoomba Regional Council environmental health councillor Joe Ramia said the notes were a reminder to motorists.
“Motorists are reminded that parking in the area shown on the 3P green zone parking map is designated three hour parking, unless otherwise stated,” he said.
“The perimeter of the 3P central traffic area is signposted with entry and exit signs to help motorists identify the three hour parking limits.
“Where no parking signage exists, parking on streets in that boundary automatically defaults to three hour parking and will attract a $63 fine if exceeded, payable within 28 days.
“Regulated parking officers routinely patrol and respond to requests to enforce the three hour limit.
“Sometimes in areas of frequent vehicle movements, officers may issue reminder information advice to efficiently seek motorists’ compliance while servicing more high demand areas before returning to issue infringement notices.”

Fines are payable within 28 days.
