New business is trucking along

-

A TOOWOOMBA couple is the latest to take advantage of the upcoming Second Range Crossing, opening a public truck wash in Wellcamp.

Truck driver Gav Crockford and wife Jodie will on Monday open new business C Bubbles Truck Wash, based on Heinemann Rd at the United Petroleum 24-hour fuel stop.

The couple said they noticed a large gap in the market for public truck washes in west Toowoomba, an area known for high levels of heavy vehicle transport.

“We came up with the idea just after Christmas and we just hit the ground running from there,” Mrs Crockford said.

“We’re based at United Petroleum and a lot of the trucks do pass up there as well – the bypass is definitely a bonus too.

“Just looking at our research, we’ve only located one truck wash in Toowoomba, and none on this side of town.”

The venture will be a big change for Mrs Crockford who just four weeks ago was a stay-at-home mum.

“It is a change of pace but my hubby knows the trucking industry – we worked together and worked out our next move from there,” she said.
