Hay bales to help farmers
CUNNAMULLA: More than 150 trucks and 200 trailers carried $2 million worth of hay to drought-stricken farmers in Cunnamulla on Australia Day as part of the Burrumbuttock Hay Run.
The face of the hay runners, Brendan Farrell, began his mission to help farmers facing real hardships during severe drought after seeing an article in the local paper about a young man in Bourke, NSW, who needed hay.
Four years later, the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners has completed 13 hay runs to drought-affected areas.
