ROMA: Surat’s Timber Crate coffee shop celebrated the relocation of its business to 63 Burrow St on the weekend.

The gourmet food, coffee and giftware shop opened the doors at its new location, which took four months to complete, with entertainment from a local jazz band, great-tasting food and friendly smiles.

“We have recently relocated to a bigger premises because the original shop we outgrew, so we moved and the new place has more comfort with an air-conditioner and amenities,” Timber Crate owner Karen Thom said.

Timber Crate has also extended its trading hours to 6.30am-4pm weekdays and 8am to 2pm on weekends to cater for lunch.

Mrs Thorn and husband Don, who purchased the coffee shop 16 months ago, are also the owners of the New Royal Hotel.

The extended space also has created more job opportunities within Surat.
