Son left in car as dad plays pokies
A SYDNEY father will be sentenced next month for leaving his young son in a car on a day when the temperature reached 40C. The five-year-old was left in the air-conditioned car for an hour on December 29 while his father went into the Guildford Hotel to play the pokies. A parking inspector found the boy and called police. The boy told police his dad was going to get money, Channel 9 reported. Police found the 32-year-old in the gaming room. The father – also found to be driving with a cancelled licence – reportedly told police the boy would not have been allowed in the hotel.
