Centre raises funds for charity
CLIFFORD Gardens Shopping Centre has launched a new campaign aimed at giving back to charities that offer vital care services in the Toowoomba community.
A spokeswoman for the centre said until March 21 every $20 spent at Clifford Gardens would earn shoppers a token to cast a vote for the charity closest to their heart, with the winning charity to earn a $2,500 first prize.
“Food Assist, RSPCA Toowoomba and YellowBridge QLD are the three worthy charities who will receive practical support in the form of a cash prize through the initiative,” the spokeswoman said.
“The charity with the most tokens will receive a $2,500 prize, and the runners-up will receive $1,500 for second and $750 for third.
“Shoppers can redeem their tokens by taking their receipt to the Customer Service Desk opposite Terry White Chemist, where the voting boxes will be set up, ready to be filled.”
The spokeswoman said the three chosen charities were all not-for-profit organisations who had been serving Toowoomba’s residents for many years.
“Food Assist assembles and distributes food hampers to over 2,500 needful people every single month in Toowoomba and Regional South-West Queensland,” she said.
“RSPCA Toowoomba finds forever homes for deserving domestic pets, and provides vital animal ambulance services, micro-chipping and animal care education sessions.
“YellowBridge QLD arranges short and long-term housing for people experiencing difficulties, and donates 60,000 hours every year to helping people with disabilities develop important life skills and become contributing members of our community.”
