ALL GLAMOUR OF FAIRHOLME FORMAL
IT WAS red-carpet glitz and glamour for the Fairholme College’s senior cohort as they made their entrance to their formal.
Principal Linda Evans said it was a fabulous night. “For once, the weather was picture-perfect and this added to the atmosphere,” she said.
“The seniors’ transformation from tartan-clad school girls to graceful and elegant young women was breathtaking.”
Gowns were long, flowing, simple in design, and red was the colour of choice.
Some girls stood out in fiery red dresses, while others shone in more subtle tones of red including berry, wine and burgundy.
Friends and family were there to cheer on the students as they stepped onto the red carpet with their handsome partners.
The evening began as it traditionally does, with a function for parents, teachers, the girls and their partners held in the transformed college assembly hall.
Following the red carpet walk-in, there were family photographs, an on-stage introduction of each girl and her partner, and some ballroom dancing – including a father/daughter dance.
The formal part of the evening was celebrated at Picnic Point where meals were served, along with more photographs and dancing.
The formal committee, under the guidance of head of house Vicki Anderson, were recognised and thanked by head girl Ellie Randall.
This special social milestone was celebrated with style and panache and the Fairholme community was proud to share it with its impressive seniors of 2018.
