TOOWOOMBA residents love a good second-hand store.

There are many second-hand stores around town where people can get their hands on a bargain, including The Clothesline.

The concept of The Clothesline is similar to an op shop but all the items in store are designer and in excellent condition.

It opened in 2016 but was forced to close at the end of last year due to a number of factors.

After a heavy storm in December, the roof began to leak and parts of the store were flooded, ruining many items of clothing.

Owner Lisa Bryant also purchased another business which was taking up a lot of her time.

After 12 weeks of closure the business reopened last month to the delight of many loyal customers.

“My intention was to close just before Christmas and open mid-January to have some time over the holidays to get back on track but I found I still had so much going on that I just couldn’t,” Mrs Bryant said.

She said the store still sold the same high-quality clothing customers had come to know.

“We are all about quality clothing and the idea of the business is to entice people who are generally not op shoppers to come in and check it out,” she said.

“We are different because we have great op shop prices but in a boutique environment.”

The Clothesline is open from Tuesday to Saturday and is located at Mann St behind Hannas.
