GATES to the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show officially open today with fun for the whole family.

The Toowoomba show holiday today means residents can take advantage and head to the Toowoomba Showgrounds for a huge line-up of attractions and entertainment.

“So far the weather is cooperating beautifully,” Toowoomba Royal Show Society president Shane Charles said.

“We would have loved a few inches a week or so ago to freshen the place up but really we can’t complain compared to the last two years.”

Day one of the show will have everything from animals to competitions, entertainment and educational activities as well as food, fashion and flowers.

Some of the star attractions will include the animal nursery, pig racing, show dogs, circus, a workshop in the garden with Costa Georgiadis and Paul West from River Cottage Australia with the Tastes of Queensland Kitchen.

There is also an actionpacked night program with the Paw Patrol stage show, Return of the Outback Riders, cheerleaders, The Long Ranger Stunt Show, motocross and young farmers challenge.

The highlight of the night will be the fireworks spectacular at 8pm.
