DAY TO REMEMBER

-

EVERY year one of Australia’s most important national occasions, Anzac Day, is marked on April 25.

This year marks 100 years since the end of the First World War.

This day reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice made by many throughout periods of conflict and war, and about those who continue to strive to ensure peace and protect our country.

Commemorating Anzac Day gives us a chance to reflect on the horror of war and the futility of conflict.

It is also a time when we are reminded of our compassion, empathy and mateship as Australians.

Australia comprises a vast array of diverse people who all contribute in their own ways to making this country prosper and succeed.

As Ahmadi Muslims, our motto of Love for All, Hatred for None resonates strongly on national days of importance.

We are reminded that as Ahmadi Muslims, our religion enforces us that we must be loyal towards our nation and to the people of our nation.

We are entailed to be good Australian citizens and to be active, contributing members of society.

Rather than causing conflict and discriminating between each other, we strive to educate and serve our nation with pride.

Remembering the fallen and acknowledging their dedication and commitment for the freedom that we enjoy today, we must continue to use our goodwill and loyalty towards Australia to spread peace with greater compassion. – B NASIR, Darling Heights
