RACING: Toowoomba mare Seq The Star helped complete a successful end to the week for the Rex Lipp stable when she skipped to an all-the-way victory at Clifford Park on Saturday night.

Seq The Star ($5) broke through for her first win in almost two years in the Complete Bathrooms Benchmark 65 Handicap (1050m).

The Sequalo five-year-old had 11⁄2 lengths to spare on the line for Bec Williams from Where’s Snippy ($16) with Now You See ($4) another half length back third after she’d raced in the box-seat throughout.

Seq The Star won five of her first 11 career starts but had been out of the winner’s list since scoring at Clifford Park in July 2016.

But after dropping back to Saturday’s more suitable assignment after finishing midfield behind Rosie Posie in a Dalby Open Handicap last month, Seq The Sar didn’t give her Benchmark 65 rivals a look in.

“The drop back in class and drop back in distance were really in her favour here,” said Roger Milne filling in for absent Rex Lipp.

“She flew the gates tonight and that was it really.”

Lipp was successful 24 hours earlier with Love Ya Mrs who returned to the winner’s stall in the Class 3 Plate at Ipswich

Williams went on to pocket a winning Clifford Park double and a third Saturday winner when Loveson upset his more fancied rivals in the Greenridge QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap (870m).

Loveson ($19) arrived in the final bound to edge out $1.85 favourute Crusher and snatch his second win for Toowoomba trainers Brett and Thomas Lunney from his three latest outings.

Williams earlier combined with Oakey trainer Graham Banks to score aboard Courting Joy at Nanango.

A track-record win by Murwillumbah five-year-old Tempa Mental in the Garden City Refrigeration & Air Benchmark 58 Handicap (2030m) wrapped up a winning race-torace double for jockey Kenji

Yoshida.

Tempa Mental ($7) finished strongly to down Island Sunset ($21) and game $2.80 favourite Tisani Grey who forged to the front on straightening before being anchored by his 59kg top weight over the final 100m.

Yoshida picked up the winning ride from fellow jockey Jake Bay lissa board Ride on a big jet plane ($4) who added to his recent first-class form with a strong-finishing effort in the Pengelly Truck & Trailers Benchmark 75 Handicap (1210m).

Ride on a big jet plane enjoyed a cosy mid-field run before pouncing on race leader and $3.10 favourite Iron George on the line to score by a nose for Ipswich trainer Garry Smith.

Trainer Ben Currie and jockey Nozi Tomizawa also landed winning doubles.

Currie scored with Mr Markou ($2.20 fav) and Seveneez ($2.15 fav) while Tomizawa arrived on Seveneez before replacing Jake Bayliss on Hancock Builders Maiden Handicap (1650m) winner Maquereau ($12) for Beaudesert trainer Ben Ahrens.
